My name is Da Yin, also known as Somefive on social websites. I’m a senior engineer at Alibaba Cloud currently, building cloud native infrastures.

KubeVela Maintainer

I am one of the maintainers of KubeVela, a CNCF incubation project. KubeVela is an application delivery project, providing the abstraction layer and orchestration capabilities on top of the Kubernetes control plane. I am now focusing on multiple related directions, including multi-cluster management, system stability and scalability, performance optimization, automated observability, in addition to the maintainess of the core controller.

I also continuously work on the community management and advocation, such as hosting community meetings, writing posts, managing public computation resources, etc. You can find me on the CNCF slack channel and the various social groups of KubeVela. Besides, I served as a reviewer for the KubeCon EU & NA multiple times.

Alibaba Cloud Engineer

While mainly focusing on the open source project KubeVela, as an engineer at Alibaba Cloud, I participate in a wide range of cloud native products as well, mainly about landing KubeVela and providing technical solutions for various scenarios, like serverless delivery or Kubernetes-based architecture.

Former Data Mining Researcher

I was working on data mining and related research fields before joining Alibaba Cloud. As a master student at Knowledge Engineer Group at Tsinghua University, I was guided by Jie Tang and focused on scientific data mining. I mainly participated in the exploration of large language models on scientific data, including both the pre-training part and the application part. Other Experiences

While I was visiting and studying at Carnegie Mellon University, I was guided by Roger Dannenberg and made some interesting journey on the research of computer music. I also once worked as a search engine and recommendation system engineer at ByteDance, where I made some discovery job for the cold start issue.
